MCO Roofing is looking for sales and door-to-door representatives to connect with homeowners across the Kansas City metro. You’ll introduce our roofing and exterior services, learn about each homeowner’s needs, and help interested customers move from an initial conversation to an inspection or estimate. The role combines neighborhood outreach, customer follow-up, and coordination with our team.
Responsibilities
- Introduce MCO to homeowners through door-to-door outreach and local prospecting.
- Listen to project needs and explain our roofing, gutter, window, screen, painting, and fence services accurately.
- Coordinate inspection and estimate requests with the team and keep homeowners informed about next steps.
- Follow up with interested homeowners and maintain clear notes on conversations, appointments, and project opportunities.
- Communicate customer questions and project details to the team so handoffs are clear.
- Represent MCO professionally, respect no-soliciting requests, and avoid pressure or promises about insurance coverage.
Requirements
- Clear, respectful communication with homeowners and teammates.
- Comfort starting conversations in person and handling rejection professionally.
- Ability to organize your outreach, keep appointments, and follow through on commitments.
- Ability to work locally in the Kansas City metro and travel between assigned neighborhoods and customer appointments.
- Comfort using a phone, email, and digital tools to record customer information and follow-up activity.
Preferred experience
- Experience in sales, canvassing, customer service, or another customer-facing role.
- Familiarity with roofing, construction, or exterior home improvement projects.
Work setting
This role includes in-person neighborhood outreach and homeowner appointments across the Kansas City metro, with time spent outdoors and traveling locally. Discuss territory, expected hours, and day-to-day arrangements with us during the hiring conversation.
Commission-based compensation
Compensation
$100 per contingency agreement, in addition to your 10/50/50 commission.
Ten percent of job revenue is allocated to company overhead. After job costs are deducted, the remaining profit is split equally between the sales representative and MCO.
- Company overhead
- 10%
Calculated from job revenue.
- Your share
- 50%
Half of the profit remaining after overhead and job costs.
- MCO’s share
- 50%
The other half of that remaining profit.
An example of the math
A $30,000 job, less $3,000 in overhead and $18,000 in job costs, leaves $9,000 to split. The representative’s share would be $4,500.
This example illustrates the calculation, not typical or guaranteed earnings. Actual commissions depend on job revenue, costs, and the agreed compensation terms. Discuss eligible costs, payment timing, and role-specific terms with us before accepting a position.
